Carlevale Lens
Innovative sutureless scleral fixation IOL
Developed from an idea by Dr Carlo Carlevale, the Carlevale lens has a unique design. The lens is anchored to the scleral tissue by means of special, trans-scleral plugs or ‘harpoons’, thereby removing the need for suture stitches. This makes for simpler surgery and drastically reduces surgery time.
